  • Karen Durishin

    Karen Durishin of Waterfall Acrylics, LLC is a northern Virginia-based mixed-media entrepreneur and artist who works with fluid acrylic paint and epoxy resin. Karen is self-taught and has been dabbling with mixed mediums, in one form or another, since 2014, and became a full-time artist in 2019. Karen’s work has been shown in multiple art galleries in the Washington DC area, and she is the recipient of several awards from juried shows. She is a member of the League of Reston Artists, and her work is displayed throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area as part of the Art In Public Places initiative. Karen was the substantive expert judge for the TV show “Meet Your Maker” airing on Discovery+.

    Karen is well known for her use of color and has a keen eye for composition. Karen teaches regularly from her art studio in northern Virginia; and is an internationally recognized fluid artist with a large social media presence including her YouTube channel with over 100,000 subscribers. Karen is married with a teenage daughter, a cat named Bella, and a Golden Retriever named Finnegan.

  • Sarah Mack

    Sarah Mack, a New England native and mother of three, is a dedicated artist with a lifelong passion for her craft. Her preferred medium is Acrylic Based Fluid Art. This medium, known for its dynamic and unpredictable nature, offers endless possibilities. Sarah remains in a perpetual state of learning, evolution, and adaptation. It's within this creative process that her art truly shines, capturing the admiration of connoisseurs and art enthusiasts alike.

    Sarah’s art has garnered recognition from art enthusiasts worldwide, with one admirer describing it as engaging and intricate. In addition to her gallery presence, She is the master of her own known techniques of Galaxy Pours and Ninja Swipes.

    Her work can be found adorning the walls of various Boston restaurants, and she has been featured at the Art On The Mall exhibition in Newburyport, drawing crowds and accolades for multiple years. In each creation, Sarah fully embraces the uniqueness of the art form. She passionately notes, "No two pours will ever be the same; there is a lack of control in the art-form that draws me in. The craft of constructing the pour, the meticulous surface preparation, the layering of colors, and the manipulation of light and dark, contrast, and shadow, all yield to the randomness of the pour and the elemental processes at play."

  • Mina Villegas

    Mina's journey into the world of art is a testament to her unwavering passion and dedication. Initially, she pursued a professional career as a Doctor of Chiropractic, but her life's course took a creative turn when she embraced motherhood, becoming a full-time Mom to her two beautiful daughters. With her children in school, Mina embarked on an artistic exploration, starting with succulents. It was in the vibrant colors, shapes, and textures of these plants that she discovered her deep-rooted love for artistic expression.

    In 2018, Mina ventured into the captivating world of paint pouring, and from that moment, she has been on a continuous quest of learning and teaching. Her artistic endeavors have taken her to various Art Shows around Los Angeles, where her work has been admired and appreciated. She has also shared her knowledge with numerous students, imparting the fundamentals and advanced techniques of acrylic paint pouring.

    What sets Mina apart is her easygoing attitude, sense of adventure, and a penchant for experimentation, all of which shine through in her exquisite artwork. Her teaching style is welcoming and inclusive, catering to students of all levels. Her classes delve into essential topics like color theory, achieving the right consistency for different techniques, working on expansive canvases, unveiling the tips and tricks of seasoned professionals, mastering the use of negative space, and creating harmonious compositions in art.

    Beyond her artistic pursuits, Mina resides in California with her Husband of Awesomeness Brian and their two teenage daughters.
